Aquí les hablo un poco de mi nuevo video Amor de Alta Mar. El concepto del video fue creada por Carlos Lopez Estrada quien también fue el director. Como la letra de la canción es visualmente tan fuerte no queríamos algo obvio en lo visual. Entonces Carlos tuvo la idea de usar a los pájaros como un símbolo del cambio mostrando que lo que tuviste en el pasado no lo tendrás en el futuro o se transformara en algo mas. Capturando así los temas generales de la canción. También como buenos estudiantes del cine y literatura latino americana, esta el uso del realismo mágico que toma cosas del mundo real como pájaros, edificios, personas y les pone en otra dimensión donde los pájaros salen de cajas y edificios, que en verdad se ven muy cool pero que sirve para abrir el símbolo metafórico que ayuda a combinar lo visual con lo musical. (espera un momento……..Lights up joint and takes a big hit) cough, cough, de que estábamos hablando? Ah si… Bueno para concluir fue un video muy divertido hacer y para mi muestra el poder de lo que puedes hacer cuando combinas una buena idea con gente con ganas porque fue un labor de mucho amor de parte del director y su crew. Cuenta también con la presencia de mis dorados que ayudaron a aportar la energía apropiada al video.

I’ve been a bad neglectful tumblr updater.
Since we have twitter and facebook to update about the current things going on in my world I’m going to use the tumblr to update you on songs that are being written and practiced on with the band. Asi pueden estar conectados a lo que esta pasando mientras no estoy de gira.
Two songs that we are currently working on are called Desierto de Leones and In the Deep.
I’m always amused the way songs come to me in Spanish or in English and these two came about very organically and when I brought them into the band it became obvious that they felt as good about them as I did. O si no pa’fuera!
So here is a sample of both songs so you can get a taste for them. Obviously the recording is from a rehearsal space and not the best. The idea is there but the songs still need work which is why its only a sample. No hay que darles pastel si todavia se esta cocinando el pan.
As the boys and I plug away at new songs I will do my best to keep you guys updated with video and recordings so you can hear whats fresh and new.

Album out and SXSW 2011
Hola amigos!
First off I just want to thank everyone of you who has purchased the album “Entre La Ciudad y El Mar” this past week. We turned a lot of heads and made a big splash with the album debuting and #2 and getting to the #1 spot on the the iTunes Latin Pop charts. Thanks also for all the kind messages and posts to facebook and twitter. You guys are amazing.
I also wanted to take the time to tell you about our plans for SXSW 2011.
We will be playing 4 shows total in Austin and if you or anyone you know lives in or around the city of music send them our way. Also we will be supporting our good friend Ximena Sariñana as she will be in Austin playing all the old classics and new songs from her upcoming new album. Entre La Ciudad y El Mar Album Release + Party

Finally to the wait is over! The album Entre La Ciudad y El Mar is coming out March 8! Its been a long year since we first finished the album and now that its finally coming out I cant hardly believe it.
To celebrate we will be holding a release party at the House of Blues on Sunset also on March 8 that is going to a whole lot of fun. If you cant join us in LA you could join us spiritually and have a small CD listening party with friends, pets, zombie lovers or imaginary vampires and a great sound system.
I feel strongly that this album should be listened to as one piece of work. Each song leads into the next and although they each have there own body and sound there spirit is the same which is something rare in today’s landscape of singles sensations. In the end though the music will speak for itself and all I can ask is that people listen with an open heart.
